India's TEC to Set Up NGN Lab
September 21, 2007
The Economic Times of India reported on September 19 that the TEC (Telecom Engineering Center) under India's DoT (Department of Telecommunications) recently announced its plan to set up a national laboratory for the NGN (Next Generation Network) transition currently underway in India. With the aim to assist local telecom operators, this test lab is projected to provide analyses of different experiences in the NGN migrations worldwide, so as to help telecom operators cope with issues arising from the network transition. Issues such as interoperability and interconnection are expected to be addressed by TEC's lab.
